Ingredients

  1. 2 teaspoonsvegetable oil
  2. 500 gmsminced/shredded chicken
  3. 1/2 cuponion finely diced
  4. 2 1/2 teaspoonsginger garlic paste
  5. to tasteSalt and pepper
  6. 5 tablespoonshoisin sauce (can use fish/oyster sauce as an alternate)
  7. 2 tablespoonssoy sauce
  8. 2 tablespoonsvinegar
  9. 2 teaspoonssesame oil (or olive oil)
  10. 1/3 cupsliced spring onions
  11. 6-8lettuce cups (separated lettuce leaves)

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat the oil in a pan over medium high heat. Add the chicken and season with salt and pepper to taste.
    Cook the chicken for 5-6 minutes, breaking up the meat with a spatula, until mostly cooked through.

    Add diced onion to the pan. Cook for 2 minutes or until they are brown. Add ginger garlic paste and cook for 1 more minute.

  3. 3

    In a small bowl, mix together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, vinegar and sesame oil.
    Pour the sauce over the chicken and mix well.

  4. 4

    Sprinkle the spring onions over the chicken.
    Spoon the chicken into the lettuce leaves and serve. Hold together using a tooth pick.
