First, cook the ground beef. Finely chop the onion and sauté it in a tablespoon of butter. Add the ground beef and stir with the onion until the color changes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, then add the pureed tomato. Lower the heat and cook until done.

Divide the phyllo dough into two halves. Grease your baking dish with a tablespoon of butter. Layer half of the phyllo sheets in the dish, then spread the cooked ground beef on top. Add the remaining phyllo sheets on top. Cut the unbaked goulash into pieces as desired.

Beat the egg well with salt and pepper, then add the cup of milk and mix thoroughly. Pour the milk and egg mixture evenly over the goulash.

Bake in the center of a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes or until cooked through. Then place under the broiler to brown the top. Enjoy!
