Ingredients

8 servings
  • 200 gmRagi
  • 100 gmjaggery
  • as neededWater
  • 1 pinchsalt
  • 7-8black pepper (crushed)
  • 3cardamom (crushed)

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak the ragi for atleast an hour.

  2. 2

    Blend it properly by adding 1glass of water to it.

  3. 3

    Drain the extra water from the blended mixture so that the unwanted particles with water goes away.

  4. 4

    Turn on the gas and put the mixture in a pan.

  5. 5

    Add jaggery,cardamom powder,black pepper and a pinch of salt to it. Mix it well in a low flame.

  6. 6

    Keep on stirring it until you get a thick consistency(semi-solid) mixture. You can see the mixture turning brown in colour after it becomes semi solid.

  7. 7

    Turn off the flame and spread the whole mixture in a huge plate like you spread the batter of a cake in an oven bowl.

  8. 8

    Let it cool down. Then, you can keep it in refrigerator.

  9. 9

    Serve it chilled by cutting it in shape of barfi/katli.
