Some friends ordered snails and when it came it was more than they bargained, so I help them to make it and they were totally wowed. 😁😀😆
So here's my easy breezy method of making peppered snails.
Steps
- 1
Wash the snails with alum. Afterwards, I use lime to squeeze over with some ginger and little bit of salt. Allow to sit for 30mins. It totally rid it of any stickiness.
- 2
Remove snails from the lime mixture, add slices onions, chopped garlic, stock cubes, blended peppers and salt. Cooked till tender.. Add up all the fresh peppers, garlic, onions blend but do not make too smooth.
- 3
Place a non-stick pan on the fire add oil...Allow to heat up....then fry the snails...for 20mins or till golden brown.
- 4
Put a non-stick pot on fire. Add oil, allow to heat up,next add rest of chopped onions, garlic, and all the blended peppers...give it a quick stir, add the stock cube, next add the fried snails in..and stir properly...lastly, add the chopped green pepper and sliced curry leaves and black pepper....stir properly taste for salt and removed from heat.
- 5
Take note that the peppered sauce shouldn't be too oily. You can add this as a side dish for your rice or yam or use to take drinks.
