Ingredients

4 persons
  • 500 gpremium Minced Beef
  • 1/2 cupWorcestershire sauce
  • 1big Onion chopped finely
  • 2carrots, grated
  • 1/2 tspgarlic paste
  • 1 1/2 cupsItalian Tomato Passata
  • 1 tbsTomato sauce
  • 5fresh Basil leaves, chopped finely (optional)
  • 1 tspDried Oregano
  • 1/2:tsp Dried Thyme
  • Salt
  • 2 tspSugar
  • 1 tspground nutmeg
  • Italian Extra Virgin Olive oil
  • 2 sheetsFlaky Puff pastry (frozen)

Steps

    In a wok with 1/2 cup Olive oil, heat it on medium high then add the onions, fry until half cooked about 5' then add the minced beef and stir, & increase the temp on high. Stir fry for 8' then add Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, black pepper, sugar, spices nutmeg, herbs oregano & thyme and stir for 8'. Add the carrots and stir, then add the tomato passata, tomato sauce and some chopped basil leaves. Keep always stirring until liquid dried up. Remove, cool slightly. Taste the season.

    Preheat oven to 220 degrees Celcius. Thaw 2 sheets of the Flaky Puff Pastry. Half softened, with a sharp knife cut in half onto each sheet, having rectangular pastries.

    Fill the bottom edge of the pastry with 2 Tbs minced beef,with the back of the spoon spread the beef till the middle part,then fold from the upper part of the pastry onto the base part.Seal with fingers shape into scallops on each margins.Idem to do to the rest of the 3 rectangular pastries, filled with the beef minced, folded on top&then to seal shaping into scallops on the margin of the pastries.With fork,mark on top the surface as show the image, letting the liquid of the filling below less p

    In a small bowl, beat 1 egg then add 1/2 tbs milk. Brush on top with egg mixture. Then put the four beef pastries to the freezer, freeze for 15'.

    Then put them to a flat tray, line with a parchment paper.Bake in hot oven for 10'-12', when the pastries starting rise puff up,then quickly turn down the oven temp to 180 degrees Celcius avoiding the top pastries get burnt.Continue to bake for 2'.Turn off the oven. Remove.Let it cool on tray for 10'.Then transfer to a rack for other 10' to further on cooling.To serve: put into a small dish, add a tbs Tomato sauce and a bunch of fried potatoes chips🍟. Ideal to bring for outdoors.Buon appetite😋

As an ordinary housewife, I love doing home cooking & baking, or sperimenting world culinary but I'm a learner in the kitchen, so bear patience with me of my mistakes as all depend on time, availability, strength of health,moods & budget. I have to do the recipes that suites to me, to my husband, kid to my own family's preferences, so my cooking is just simple and not a restaurant style.🇮🇩 😚 I spent my childhood till teen age in Indonesia, a country that loves rice, spicy casserole with gravy, light soup bowls with sambals hot chili sauce on top. My mum cook almost daily 🐟🐋🐬fresh fish dishes, a menu that has plenty of vegetables on the table, we oftenly have snack many times a day. Delightful for us as kids to have🍍🍋🌽plenty of tropical fruits at home. In my birth city the sun shine 10 months yearly, the heavy raining season is 2-3 months approximately it depends in what zone location you are.😍My mom is passionately into cooking and I growing up got inspired and learnt from her cooking recipes, but I didnt learn much because I spent most of the time with the school programs.😍🌶Now I live with my husband in New Zealand. I couldn't find many of the ingredients from the Asian stores for my cooking, so I've tried to substitute the ingredients. The results are that the taste of my cooked dishes are not perfect to the original recipes. I've to reduce the quantity of the hot chilies as my husband or invited friends who can't eat hot meal at all but the main thing is that the dishes taste delicious & healthy.My quote: Keep on trying to improve my own cooking.
