Bhakri (Gujarati Flatbread)

Bhakri is a Gujarati dish, most commonly eaten in northern Gujarat. It's enjoyed for breakfast or as part of dinner. When making bhakri, it's very important to press it down firmly while cooking, or it may remain raw inside. Adding a little extra oil when kneading the dough makes the bhakri softer.

Steps
- 1
In a large bowl, add the flour, salt, and cumin powder. Mix well.
- 2
Add the oil and mix. Gradually add water while kneading to form a dough. Make sure the dough is not too soft.
- 3
Grease your hands with oil and knead the dough again. The more you knead, the better the dough will be.
- 4
Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a flat disc. Place on a hot griddle and cook lightly on one side. Flip, then press down with a cloth or wooden tool to cook the bhakri evenly. Press and cook both sides until done.
- 5
Remove from the griddle, spread ghee on top, and serve bhakri with morning tea or with vegetables for dinner.
