and 1/2 stick butter • chopped carrots • chopped celery • chopped fresh onion (or substitute some minced or dried chopped onion and add later in recipe with broth and rice boil) • flour (depends how thick and hearty you like your soup) • ground pepper • chicken broth(I use 1 box regular chicken broth/stock and 1 box low sodium) • uncle bens original quick cook long grain & wild rice (with seasoning packet included in box) • chicken breast cooked and chopped, or 1 small rotisserie chicken • cream, skim/1%/2%/ whole milk, evaporated milk, half and half. (Depending on fat/calorie and how creamy you want the soup)
