Ingredients

  1. halfcup dahl - washed and soaked for 20 minutes
  2. 1small piece of ginger crushed/sliced
  3. 1chopped tomato or tomato paste
  4. 2 clovesgarlic chopped/grated
  5. 1carrot finely chopped
  6. halfred onion chopped
  7. cumin seeds
  8. salt, turmeric

Cooking Instructions

    Boil dahl with chopped carrot in a pot for 15 minutes at medium heat or in a pressure cooker. Turn the heat off after 1 whistle in the cooker.

    Heat spoonful oil in a pot, add cumin seeds. add onion, ginger, garlic to it. Cook on medium heat.

    Add chopped tomato or 1 spoonful of tomato paste. Add half cup boiled water to it. Stir and cook on medium heat till the paste thickens.

    Add the mushy dahl and carrot to the paste. add 1 cup hot boiled water to it. Stir, and let it cook for 5 minutes on low heat. Stir in between.
