Bahan-bahan

  1. 500 grsalted butter (at room temperature) (use good butter)
  2. 180-200 grpowdered/icing sugar (I use 180gr)
  3. 600 grplain/all-purpose flour

Cara Membuat

    Beat butter in a big bowl with hand mixer until pale. Butter must be at room temperature so it's easy to beat.

    Add icing sugar into the butter and mix well. You'd need to scrape the side and mix, scrape the side and mix again once or twice more until mixed evenly and turn slightly paler.

    Add quarter of the flour and mix again with beater. Then add another quarter and beat again, do that to the rest of the flour.

    When the flour finished, the batter should be slightly crumbly.

    Preheat oven at 160°C or 150°C fan forced.

    Butter a 38x30cm baking pan and lined with baking sheet with overhang. Buttering the pan will help when flattening the dough.

    Transfer dough to the baking pan and flatten it with spatula. Then cover with cling wrap and flatten with rolling pin until evenly flat.

    Bake for 20 mins until edges are light brown and most of the surface is still pale gold.

    Bring the tray out of the oven and working quickly cut into desired shape and prick all over with fork.

    Return the tray back into the oven and bake a further 8 mins until the surface is light golden (not brown).

    Turn off the oven, open the door a little and let it cool in the oven for about an hour.

    Once an hour is up, bring out the tray, and using the baking paper overhangs take the cookies out from the tray and cool fully on the baking rack.

    Keep in an airtight container for 3 days or in freezer for up to 2 months.

I've been living overseas now for the past 20 more years. And while I have all the previleges of trying all sort of new and delicious food the world's got to offer, deep in my heart I longed for food from my childhood. I think anyone who left their home town or home country would know exactly how I feel. I especially miss my paternal grandma's cooking as I was raised eating her food every single day. I wish I could go back in time to when I was a little girl and clever enough to interview her and write down all her recipes so I can always create her cooking whenever I want hehe. So, I'm writing all these recipes with hope that one day when my boys has grown up and if they live apart from me, they'd always be able to create mum's simple home cook meal to warm up their tummy and their heart ❤️. I'm also very busy in my daily schedule, so you'll find my recipes can feed the whole village! Well, not literally lol. but that's what my husband always commented 😇.
