Nachos is one of the most popular Mexican crispy snacks in the world. These are fried maize flour crisps served with salsa, sour cream , beans, guacamole and a variety of spicy and tangy sauces. Here I have tried a baked version of loaded Nachos which is healthy and yummy too. Enjoy!

Ingredients

40 minutes
4 servings
  1. 1 cupMaize flour / Makki atta
  2. 3/4 cupMaida
  3. 1 tspNigella seeds or ajwain seeds
  4. 1 tspTurmeric powder
  5. as per taste Salt and pepper
  6. 2 tablespoonsOil
  7. 1 tspBaking powder
  8. as required Cold water to mix (add in small quantities)
  9. Salsa:
  10. 1/2 cupchopped onion
  11. 1small chopped tomato
  12. 1chopped green chilli
  13. 1 tspChopped garlic
  14. 1 tablespoonLemon juice
  15. 1 tablespoonTomato sauce
  16. as per taste Salt and pepper
  17. More topping options:
  18. 1-2 cubesGrated cheese
  19. as neededRefried baked beans, sour cream, guacamole (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    First, sieve and mix the ingredients for nachos in a bowl. Add oil, turmeric, salt, pepper, seeds, and mix a tight dough with cold water.

    Preheat oven to 180 °c for 10 minutes. Now roll out a thin disc from the dough. Prick with fork so they will not puff up.

    Cut out triangles or any fun shape and arrange on a greased and lined tray.

    Bake for 10 to 15 minutes till crisp and golden. Take out and cool on wire rack and let them become crisp more.

    Salsa: Mix all the ingredients for salsa and toss well. Chill for 10 minutes.

    For making Loaded Nachos, arrange the Nachos on a plate. Top with grated cheese(you can first spread cheese, bake for 5 minutes till it melts).

    Add salsa, and other toppers like cream cheese, guacamole, baked and refried beans, and serve delicious Baked Loaded Nachos. Enjoy!
