Japanese Beef Rice (牛おこわ)

Aunty Eiko's international cuisine experience @auntyeiko
Today I bought Wagyu beef. So I made beef rice with glutinous rice.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Soak glutinous rice in water for 30 minutes.
- 2
Make easy fish stock. Put dried bonito flake in water and microwave 600w for 2~3 minutes and cool for 2~3 minutes.
- 3
Strain with colander. Please don’t squeeze because it gets bitter. Put seasoning in it and add water to make it 250 ml.
- 4
Fry beef and add rice and seasoning mixture.
- 5
Cook it in rice cooker or cook in pan.
- 6
Put beef rice in Sushi mold or in some square box. Press rice. Cut into square shape.
- 7
Today’s dinner.

Enjoy 🇯🇵

Japanese Leek Kimpira Japanese Leek Kimpira
I bought a ton of Japanese leeks at the morning market with the mud still on them. They're so easy and delicious! I made these since I wanted to eat a lot. These got all eaten up!! My husband loves them, too.I posted this as a memo to myself. The white part of the leek is packed with fragrant enzymes that helps improve blood circulation. You can also grill the Japanese leek on the grill or in a toaster oven.I use rice vinegar (Mitsukan brand), but feel free to use your choice of vinegar. Tosa-style Stewed Cauliflower Tosa-style Stewed Cauliflower
I thought the cauliflower I had in the fridge might be good with bonito dashi. I made a simple Tosa-style stew with it.The cauliflower loses its nice texture when overcooked. When it is just cooked through, turn the heat off and let it absorb the flavour of the bonito dashi in residual heat. For 2 servings. Recipe by Niwanomomo cookpad.japan -
Bonito Miso Stir-Fry with Konnyaku and Pork Bonito Miso Stir-Fry with Konnyaku and Pork
I loved this dish since I was a kid. I could eat it with a lot of rice.I sometimes add chikuwa fish cake or burdock fish cake. I added meat so that my husband would eat well.If you cook the sauce too long, it's going to be too salty, so be careful.I twisted konnyaku for this recipe but you can simply treat the konnyaku like I did in this recipe.) Takikomi Gohan (Japanese mixed mushroom rice) Takikomi Gohan (Japanese mixed mushroom rice)
Growing up, my mom made a version of takikomi gohan and it was one of my favorites. I didn't love plain white rice when I was young so any dish that jazzed it up was a winner. Traditionally, it's mixed with veggies like carrots, and some protein like seafood or meat, but I like to keep things simple. Plus I love mushrooms and when cooked, they remind me of meat so it's still satisfying! lilis.home -
Quick, Tasty and Easy! Our Family's Favorite Beef Bowl Quick, Tasty and Easy! Our Family's Favorite Beef Bowl
It's our family's favorite recipe.Even our 4 year old daughter loves this dish, and finishes the bowl instantly. The mellow sweetness of the marmalade will bring out the dashi flavor. The beef will become hard if cooked too long, so cook the onions first until softened before adding the beef.
