  2. 2 cupsJapanese sweet rice (Japanese measuring cup)
  3. 1 cupRegular Japanese rice (Japanese measuring cup)

  5. 1 TbspSoy sauce
  6. 2 TbspMirin (sweet sake)
  7. 1/2 tspSalt
  8. 2 3/4 cupsWater

Steps

  1. 1

    Cook the fresh chestnuts and peel off the skins. I normally boil them first for 3 minutes and then I roast them in the oven for 5 more minutes.

    Wash the Japanese sweet rice and regular rice put it into the bowl for the rice cooker.

    Add soy sauce, mirin, salt, water, cooked chestnuts.

    Turn on the rice cooker.

    About 20 minutes later, it looks like this.

    Mix it and you are ready to serve.

Hi! Welcome to my cookpad page. My cooking motto is "simple and healthy". In the city of Kobe, Japan where I grew up, there are a lot of good bakery shops, but after I moved here to Florida in 1997, I missed the tasty breads and Japanese foods so much! Then I thought, "Why don't I make it?" So, now I bake breads almost everyday and cooking Japanese foods here in Florida. It's difficult to find some Japanese ingredients, but I'm trying. I also plant Japanese vegetables to use for cooking.
