  1. For Rice (chuta bhat)
  2. 1 cupRice
  3. 2 pinchsalt
  4. 2,½ cup water
  5. For dal

  8. 250 gramseggplant
  9. 300 gramspotatoes
  10. 4onions
  11. For stuffing masala
  12. 2 tablespoonschickpea flour
  13. 1 tablespoonroasted peanuts
  14. 1 teaspoonroasted sesame seeds
  15. 1 teaspoondesiccated coconut
  16. 1 teaspooncrushed ginger, chili, garlic
  17. 2 teaspoonsdhaniya jira powder
  18. 1 teaspoonchili powder
  19. 1/2 teaspoonturmeric
  20. 1 teaspoonsalt
  21. 2 teaspoonssugar
  22. 1 teaspoonlemon juice
  23. 1 pinchasafoetida
  24. 2 tablespoonschopped coriander
  25. 1 tablespoonoil
  26. For tempering (vaghar)
  27. 3 tablespoonsoil
  28. 1 teaspoonmustard, cumin seeds
  29. 1dried red chili
  30. 1 pinchasafoetida
  31. 1tomato chopped
  32. 1green chili chopped
  33. 4-5curry leaves

  35. For phulka roti
  36. 2 cupwhole wheat flour
  37. 1 tablespoonoil
  38. 1 cupwater (as needed)
  39. 1/4 cupghee for applying (as required)

Cooking Instructions

    First of all soak rice and dal for 10 minutes. Now cook rice in water. Add 2 pinch of salt and cook until soften.then strain it and keep aside. Boil dal in pressure cooker until 2-3 whistles.

    Now prepare Gujarati dal to see recipe link:

    Now to make sambhariyu shak, First of all, add the peanuts, sesame seeds and desiccated coconut in a mixer grinder and grind themcoarsely.. Mix all the remaining spices (as mention)and prepare the stuffing masala.

    Wash the brinjal, peel potatoes and onions, cut them vertically and fill them with the masala. First steam the potatoes in a steamer for 5-7 minutes, then add the onions and brinjal and cook them untill soften.

    Heat oil in a pan and crackle mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, dry red chilies then add tomato, green chili and curry leaves.. Add all the boiled stuffed vegetables and add remaining spices, add garam masala.mix well. Add 1 cup of water. After 2-3 minutes, add coriander and remove from heat. Bharelu sambhariyu shak is ready.

    Now to make phulka roti. Sift the wheat flour. add oil and mix. Knead the medium dough. Roll the lemon size ball into flat thin roti.

    Roast the roti one side little cook.Turn and cook the other side.This should be a little bit more cooked than the first side. Brown spots should be visible.Now hold the roti with a tong and keep the first side which was cooked, directly on fire. The roti will start to puff. Take it out. Phulka roti is ready. Apply ghee on it.

    Gujrati lunch thali is ready. When Serve the lunch, Add salad, chas,papad pickle,namkeen farsan and enjoy.
