Galaktoboureko is a traditional Greek syrup-soaked dessert made mainly with phyllo dough and custard. There are various recipes and preparation methods, as well as different portion sizes. The custard can be flavored with lemon or vanilla, and the syrup is made from sugar and water. The recipe I used is from Myrto. https://cookpad.wasmer.app/gr/sintages/3088380-to-pio-teleio-galaktompourekoIf you haven't tried it, you're missing out. Air Fryer Torrijas Air Fryer Torrijas
Today is Torrija Day and I didn’t want to miss it, so here’s this air fryer version. With this recipe, you can make two large torrijas in an air fryer. If you want to make more, just multiply the ingredients and cook them in batches of two at a time. They taste very similar to traditional torrijas but are lower in calories since they’re not fried in oil. If you use erythritol instead of sugar—a sweetener that looks and tastes similar but has no calories—you’ll have a healthier dessert with far fewer calories.Although they might seem a bit labor-intensive, if you organize yourself well, you can make several batches without much effort. Baklava with Walnuts and Honey Baklava with Walnuts and Honey
Delicious, crispy, and wholesome baklava from Crete, made with the best the island has to offer: top-quality extra virgin olive oil and pure honey. Baklava is a traditional Greek dessert that's easy to make and loved by many. We use walnuts, which are plentiful in Greece, layers of phyllo dough brushed with olive oil or butter, and a syrup flavored with cinnamon—or sometimes we use honey instead of syrup. This sweet treat is a staple in Greek homes for every celebration. Nέλλη ΚαρδαράTranslated from Cookpad Greece -

Traditional recipe from Livadeia. In the past, home cooks would roll out the phyllo dough by hand with a rolling pin. They used to say the filling should be white, and the thinner and crispier the phyllo, the better the cook.NikiKat

My Grandma's Galaktoboureko!! My Grandma's Galaktoboureko!!
All my life, I remember my grandma making the famous galaktoboureko on St. Demetrios' Day, and everyone would be amazed!! As a kid, I only liked eating the phyllo and not the custard... now that I'm older, I've come to appreciate this dessert as it deserves!!*You can use any butter you like. Of course, it tastes even better with a good-quality butter!*My grandma's recipe has a 'secret' for extra flavor: sprinkle a mixture of sugar and cinnamon on each phyllo sheet. I find that a bit much, so I do it every three sheets instead!! ΜαγειρέματαTranslated from Cookpad Greece
