This popular street food recipe is best served with sambar and different types of chutneys alongside. Ingredients

10 minutes

  1. 3 cupsdosa batter
  2. 4boiled eggs
  3. 2 tspoil
  4. 1 tspmustard seeds
  5. 1chopped onion
  6. 1chopped tomato
  7. 1 tspginger garlic paste
  8. 1 tspkashmiri red chilly powder
  9. 1 tspcoriander powder
  10. 1 tspgaram masala powder
  11. 1 tspsalt
  12. 2 tspchopped coriander leaves
  13. 1/2 tsppepper powder

    Heat oil in a pan. I like the flavour of Indian sesame oil for this recipe. When the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, finely and finely chopped onions. You want to fine chop all the ingredients. If the pieces are big, it wont adhere well to the dosai when added as a topping. Saute the onions till soft.

    Add ginger garlic paste saute 2 minutes.. Add finely chopped tomato saute few minutes... Add in all the spice powders and sauté for a few seconds.

    Now add chopped eggs and pepper powder mix well..

    Heat a cast iron dosai pan. I use regular Idli Dosai batter for making this recipe. When hot, add in a ladle of dosai batter. Around 3 inches diameter. I like to make small dosai as its easy to flip and looks really cute too. Gently spoon the egg masala, onion, coriander leaves on top of the dosai. Sprinkle oil and let it cook for a minute.

    Flip the dosai and cook for a minute more. Flip again. Sprinkle black pepper powder on the dosai. The muttai kari dosai is ready. Serve hot.

    Tips: you whisk in a couple of eggs too so the egg mixture will stick to the dosai without falling while flipping the dosai.
