Guava Juice - Low on calories, high on health!

While shopping for my weekly fruits and veggies, I spot a fruit vendor’s cart selling pink guavas’ I pick up a few and head home to try something different. I almost always bite into them- take a large chunky juicy bite, or add some salt and chili powder. First I thought of making jam or a jelly which my nani used to make, she had a pink guava tree in her garden and every summer we had a fresh stock of her delicious jams and jelly’s ready for breakfast. But then I decided against it, dint want to add to the calories and the already difficult weight loss process. Wanted to try something quick and healthy so thought of making a simple tasty guava juice.
A little about these healthy fruits:
Guava contains Vitamins such as Vitamin C & Vitamin E, it is great for the skin and being rich in fiber helps digestion. They also contain minerals such as potassium, copper and manganese. A single common guava, fruit contains about four times the amount of vitamin C as an orange.

Vitamin C in the guava juice helps to fight against infection in the body and improve the immune system. While the Vitamin E plays a very vital role in reducing the bad cholesterol levels ; boosting the good cholesterol level and eliminates the cancer cells. Ingredients

  1. 2guavas Ripe ’ cut into small pieces
  2. 2 cupsWater (400 ml)
  3. 3 - 4 tbspsSugar (optional)
  4. A pinchRock Salt

Cooking Instructions

    Wash, scoop out the seeds, and chop the guavas’ into small pieces.

    Take a mixer / blender, add the chopped pieces, add 2 cups of water and a pinch salt and blend together.

    Pour into a glass, add crushed ice in summer and enjoy.
