I used to make hibiscus tea in the US. When I moved to Nigeria and heard about zobo🤩🌺 wowww it’s a deeper red flower then what I used to grow . By far my favorite juice now!

Cooking Instructions

Put water in a very large pot rinse and add zobo leaves, cinnamon, cloves

Clean the ginger and cut into slices and add to water. Smash the garlic with a knife (do not cut up, leave whole) garlic is only for preserving so it doesn’t go bad fast

Add all other ingredients

I cook on a medium heat until it boils then turn down to a lower temperature for about 30-45 minutes to simmer. Stir it a few times.

Shut off and let it sit until it completely cools. Take out all the ingredients but squeeze out all the juice and pour into bottles or a large enough container to refrigerate! I use emptied coke or sprite bottles

It's a mildly sweet, healthy shiso juice that you can drink as is.If it's too troublesome to strain the leaves in Step 3, you can omit that step, but straining makes it look nicer. Add sugar to taste. If it's too strong, dilute with carbonated or plain water. You can use the leftover shiso leaves for cooking.
