Quick & Easy Spaghetti Bolognese Quick & Easy Spaghetti Bolognese
I wanted a bolognese, didn't want it laden with fat (recipes I had seen online started with 1/4 cup of oil and I just didn't want that so why use it if I don't have to?), and didn't want to take 2 hours to make it so this semi-homemade bolognese was born. StephieCanCook -

Fried Chipotle Sausages & Peppers (Spetsofai) Fried Chipotle Sausages & Peppers (Spetsofai)
This morning I went walking with Charlie and a lovely friend/neighbor of mine. It has been a while since we saw each other so this gave us the opportunity to catch up on things. The weather has been sunny and so much cooler which I am very grateful for and so is Charlie. :) As she was telling me what was happening in her life, I told her about mine and I also mentioned to her, and this is a bit of exciting news, I have been invited to do a small cooking workshop in August for children from the age of 4 - 11. This sounded like so much fun that of course I said YES!! :) I have already decided what I will make and what's great about it is that they will be able to take part helping out. :)When I returned from our walk I had taken out the ingredients to make this excellent tasting appetiser. I have already posted a few salad recipes so it was time to make something else for today :) Oh! but I will be posting another salad recipe this coming Friday. hahaha The first time I tried this it was in a beautiful mountain area in Greece called Arachova, it is just under an hour drive outside of Athens, with breathtaking views, fresh air, ski slopes, and taverns that have the most delicious appetisers, and this is one of them. In my recipe I have added a bit more vegetable oil because I love to dip fresh bread into the sauce, it has a smokey, spicy taste to it that you just can not get enough of. :) Foodzesty -

Noodles Noodles
I love veg noodles, but most of the time it is difficult to find a store that caters to you when the need arises. Especially if I need the fresh ingredients and smell of the sautéd vegetables in the house making it mouth-watering. This recipe can be customized to your taste. Lakshmi Balaji -

Sweet and Sour Sauce for Egg Foo Yong Sweet and Sour Sauce for Egg Foo Yong
Ever since I was a child, I liked to putter around in the kitchen. Sometimes I watched my late mom cooking. Most of the time she asked me to do this and that. I can still hear her voice telling me to peel or chop something. Growing up, I was blessed with a warm family and a home full of delicious dishes. My mother was always cooking something. Spicy rendang, stir-fry, seafood dishes, oh, how I'the love to return to that state of bliss when my parents were still alive and we could have a normal dinner together, chatting about mundane stuff.I am grateful for those memories. Now I am passing them to my kids. They are no stranger in the kitchen and in a way I am happy because my mother would love this.I learned (and am still learning) cooking by trial and error. The internet has opened my eyes to plenty of food around the world, but sometimes I yearn for the familiar, like this sweet and sour sauce. Being an Asian, we naturally collect tomato and chili sauce sachets from take-outs so we always have some around the house.#givingthanks Angela Mertoyono -
The Old Italian Lasagna Recipe The Old Italian Lasagna Recipe
I thought I would leave the Greek Cuisine this time around and share this very old delicious Italian Lasanga Recipe, that was given to my mother from her Italian friend Maria many many many moons ago. Our next door neighbors in the states was this wonderful and very happy Italian family. The mother’s name was Maria, can’t remember what the father’s name was and the son’s name was Rosario. As children growing up in the states, most of the time we would play outside, on the street along with the other kids on our block and so did Rosario. Every afternoon/evening a little before 6, Maria would come out yelling “Rosario Manga” hahahaha till this day I still remember how Rosario would respond with “Mama ooohhhh” he would say something in Italian, stomp his feet, cross his arms, and then he would start running so that he would not have to go in and eat. Maria would then become furious and start yelling in Italian and of course then come running after him.My mother and Maria became very good friends, we lived next to each other for so many years, they would exchange recipes, go shopping together, help each other out in the gardens, just being there for one another. What was really unbelievable was that neither one of these two ladies spoke good English, one Italian and the other Greek, and yet they communicated in their own little way. I found that to be amazing!!!This recipe was originally passed on to Maria from her mother, and Mara gave this recipe to my mom. Foodzesty
