Tamarind and Dates Chutney

Sweet and Sour Tamarind and Dates Chutney or Imli-khajur Ki Chutney is a delicious Indian sauce made using tamarind, dates , jaggery, and spices. This easy to make chutney can be served with samosa, and is an integral part of any Indian Chaat , bhel puri , dahi vada or many more . Here is how to make it.

Cooking Instructions

Remove the seeds of dates and tamarind. Then add dates and tamarind along with 1.5 cup of water in a pressure cooker and cook until 4 - 5 whistles.
Let the pressure come down itself then add this mixture in a grinding jar and grind it. If needed then add some water. - 2
Now pass this mixture through a sieve.
Now transfer this mixture in a pan, turn on flame. Keep the flame on low.
Add remaining all ingredients mix everything together. Stir often and cook until it become sauce like consistency. - 3
Tamarind and Dates Chutney is ready. Store it in a airtight container in refrigerator for upto six months. Enjoy this chutney with snacks, chaat or dahi vada.
