Ingredients

30 Minutes
4 servings
  1. 1 cup- vegetables (Carrot, Capsicum, Pumpkin, tomatoes, ashgaurd, raddish)
  2. 100 gms- Toor dal / arhar dal
  3. 1/2 cup- Tamarind water / paste
  4. 2tbsp - grounded spices(coriander, chana dhall, Methi, pepper, coconut grated, red chilli, friedchanna, curry leaves)
  5. 1.5 tsp- oil
  6. as required Coriander leaves few
  7. 1/2 tsp- asafoetida
  8. 1.5 tsp- Salt/ to taste
  9. 1/4 tsp- turmeric powder

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and cook Toor dhall by adding turmeric powder.

    Boil 1/2 cup of tamarind water, salt, vegetables...for 15-20 Minutes.

    Dry roast 1.5 tsp coriander seeds, 3/4 tsp chana dhall, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1/4 tsp Methi, 1 tsp fried chana, 4 dry red chillies, 1/4 cup grated fresh coconut, curry leaves.

    Make a fine powder with above-mentioned ingredients.

    Once the raw smell of tamarind goes...Add freshly grounded masala, cooked / well mashed Toor dhall. Add 1/2 cup of water.

    Boil for 10 Minutes and switch off the flame.

    Add asafoetida.

  8. 8

    Seasoning should be done by heating oil Add mustard seeds....wait till is crackel well Add to the Sambar. Add chopped coriander leaves and serve.
