Ingredients

Makes 10 to 15 pieces
  1. 2 cupsbread flour (about 250 grams)
  2. 2 tablespoonsmargarine or butter (about 30 grams)
  3. 2 tablespoonssugar (about 30 grams)
  4. 1/2 teaspoonsalt (about 3 grams)
  5. 3/4 cupwater (about 180 grams)
  6. 1 teaspoondry yeast (about 3 grams)
  7. For brushing the bread
  8. 1whole egg
  9. 1small amount of water

Cooking Instructions

    Add all ingredients except those marked with a star to the bread machine and select the dough course. Follow your bread machine's instructions for adding ingredients.

    Once the dough is ready, divide it into 10 to 15 pieces, shape each piece into a ball, and smooth the top. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

    Cover the dough balls with a damp cloth and let them rest for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, set your oven to 104°F (40°C) on the proofing setting.

    Place the dough in the oven, spray the inside of the oven and the bread with water. Let it proof at 104°F (40°C) for 40 minutes.

    After the second proofing, remove the dough and cover with a damp cloth to prevent drying. Preheat the oven to 356°F (180°C).

    Just before the oven reaches 356°F (180°C), mix the egg and water well, and gently brush the mixture on top of the bread using a brush or the back of a spoon.
