Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 400 g (2 cups)green split peas, rinsed
  2. 1 tbspoil
  3. 1onion, chopped
  4. 2large carrots, chopped
  5. 2large white potatoes, chopped
  6. 3celery stalks, chopped
  7. 1920 ml (8 cups)vegetable stock
  8. 1 tspsalt
  9. to tasteBlack pepper
  10. to tastePaprika

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Fry off the onion, carrots and celery in the oil for 5 minutes until softened

  2. 2

    Add the split peas, potatoes, salt and stock. Bring to the boil then cover and simmer for around 90 minutes or until the split peas have softened until easily mushed

  3. 3

    Season with black pepper and serve with a sprinkling of smoked paprika
