Cooking Instructions

Prepare your ingredients. Diced tomatoes and onions..

Cut beef into desired cubes.

Heat your pan and add beef.Add 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil for about 10mins to tenderise.

In a different pan fry onions till brown then add tomatoes and cook for 3 mins. Add 1/4 cup of water bring to a boil. Add in the pre- boiled beef and simmer for 5 mins.

Add in the chillies,season with salt and simmer for 1 more min. Garnish with cilantro. Serve hot with ugali and a slice of avocado.

It says 3 min prep, its supposed to say 3 hour cooking time. Stew meat, hamburger, any beef works good here, I use a frozen pot roast and after cooking, cut it into pieces before serving. I must admit this recipe is really for a beef pie, but the insides where so good, why not just have the insides!! I think it qualifies for stew!! You can cook the first part in a skillet but you do need a Dutch oven to complete it. It is rather fiddly to make but I guarantee you'll be happy with the results.
