Mahua: Twisty Chinese Fried Snacks Mahua: Twisty Chinese Fried Snacks
These are called various things depending on the manufacturer. If you go to Chinatown, you can always buy these. They are very simple, but you won't tire of them. The key to these is that firm, chewy texture, but if you make them yourself you can make them as hard or soft as you like! Shaping these is a lot of fun.As long as you know how to form these they are not hard to make. If you are making these for the first time, you can use half of the dough to experiment. They are more nutty and fragrant if you fry them to the point where you think they might be a bit overdone. If you omit the baking powder they'll be even harder. If you prefer them to be softer though, try using 140 g of cake flour and 100 g of bread flour. For 14 to 16 mahua. Recipe by Kototama cookpad.japan -

Melonpan Melonpan
Melonpan, which many Japanese people (including Dorami-chan, Doraemon's sister) love, is bread covered with cookie dough. Don't get confused: Melonpan was named after melons, but we cannot find any melons in the recipe. "Melon-looking-bread" - that's the Melonpan!#bread #fluffy #Japanese sweets Mogco Tokyo -
Falafel (Israeli Deep-fried Chickpea Balls) Falafel (Israeli Deep-fried Chickpea Balls)
I love chickpeas. The falafel I ate at an Israeli fast food restaurant (near where my child was boarding in Kyoto -- not in Israel) was so tasty that I wanted to make it on my own. This makes a large quantity, so either freeze or reduce the amount when cooking. You could use curry powder instead of garam masala. If you're making this for children, you might not want to use cayenne pepper. If it tastes too plain after mixing all ingredients, please add some salt. Recipe by Tomoko kitchen cookpad.japan -

Easy Curry Bread in a Bread Maker Easy Curry Bread in a Bread Maker
Since I wanted to make an easy curry bread in a bread maker, I altered a recipe which required you to kneed the dough by hand. It's also delicious if you add cheese in Step 4.If you don't seal the seams completely, the filling will burst out when deep-frying.When you wrap the curry, it sometimes oozes out of the bread. But if you use the curry from, it's so much easier to wrap up!! Recipe by Chugakusei kitchen cookpad.japan -

Sweet Potato Croquettes Sweet Potato Croquettes
I got a lot of sweet potatoes as a gift, so I made them into croquettes: my children's favorite. The texture depends on what kind of sweet potatoes you use. If you don't like it flaky, adjust thickness with milk or fresh cream. I tried to keep the other ingredients to a minimum to highlight the natural taste of the sweet potatoes.
