Ingredients

8 servings
  1. 1/3 Cupsugar
  2. 4 tbscornstarch
  3. 1/2 tspsalt
  4. 2 cupsmilk, scalded
  5. 3egg yolks
  6. 1 tspVanilla
  7. 3Sliced bananas
  8. Baked 9 inch pie shell

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt

  2. 2

    Add milk slowly, stirring constantly.

  3. 3

    Cook in double boiler until cornstarch is clear and begins to thicken.

  4. 4

    Beat egg yolks slightly

  5. 5

    Add gradually to mixture.

  6. 6

    Cook about 2 minutes.

  7. 7

    Add vanilla.

  8. 8

    Cool.

  9. 9

    Put alternate layers of bananas and filling into baked pie shell.

  10. 10

    Cover with meringue or whipped cream.
