Baked Cassava Cheese Baked Cassava Cheese
Cassava/Tapioca Cake, a very popular traditional cake known as Bingka Ubi Kayu in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia, is usually baked or steamed in coconut milk and contains no cream cheese. This baked cassava cheese is a fusion version of the traditional ones. It is less sweet, soft and springy. Omit the flour if a gluten-free version is preferred. Thickened cream can be replaced with coconut cream and adjust sugar accordingly. I only use the frozen type from Asian Grocery store as fresh Cassava/tapioca is not widely available in Western Australia.Use either fresh or store bought cassava, it makes no different. This recipe requires no straining or squeezing of grated cassava. It’s very much straightforward.Note : Recipe is in Australian Standard Metric measuring tools (cups, spoons and weighing scale)#mycookbook#cake#steamedcake#cassava#starch#tapioca#ubi#dessert#teatime#bingka#ubikayu#kuih#cheese#kek#breakfast#lunch#dinner#asian#malaysian#sweet#Christmas#newyear Pinkblanket's Kitchen -

Fried Fermented Cassava (RONDHO ROYAL / MONYOS) Fried Fermented Cassava (RONDHO ROYAL / MONYOS)
Rondho/Rondo Royal or Monyos is one of the typical Jepara traditional snack made of rice flour filled with TAPE and cooked, especially if presented still warm taste it'll be more delicious. A blend of sweet and sour taste of the TAPE and the saltiness of rice flour is very pronounced in this rondho royal, also crispiness on the outside and tenderness on the inside give nice texture while enjoying it. In the cooking process, the TAPE that is in use is cassava instead of sticky tape.It remains unclear origin of the name of the royal rondo, but if we observe from the rondho royal word we can slightly understand the meaning. RONDHO in the Java language can be interpreted widow, and ROYAL can be interpreted luxury. So that could mean "luxury widow". Maybe once the food is found by a luxurious widow so called Rondho Royal. But in the Java language, said RONDO can be taken from the word "rodo^ / rada^" or "mondo" which means "almost/slightly resembles”. So Rondo Royal can be interpreted "little luxury". Maybe once, this food is a food that is luxurious for the people --- first Dutch era, many snacks that may not be affordable for people to make (such Bitterballen, Croquete, Poffertjes, Oliebollen and others). The name is still a mystery, and it remains unclear origins, but the name is exactly the uniqueness in traditional food of this one that makes people’s become curious when heard it and wanted to try a bite. In Jepara southern part, these foods are also often called "MONYOS", but in other areas there is also a call "FRIED TAPE".Way of making this recipe is very easy and can be practiced with the children at home, and for the following ingredients I could make as much as 20 dots dough. Cassava Fine Fried (POLUS) Cassava Fine Fried (POLUS)
This Indonesia cuisine has existed since time is not independent, since this is a food freedom fighters here. This recipe I can from my deceased grandmother, along with other traditional recipes. Materials and practiced how to make it easier ... can be enjoyed while relaxing or as a fun preparation with family.KENCUR (Kaempferia galanga L.) is one type of medicinal plants belonging to the tribe- finding (Zingiberaceae). Rhizomes of this plant contain essential oils and alkaloids are used as a stimulant. Kencur name borrowed from Sanskrit, kachora, कचोर, which means white meeting (Curcuma zedoaria).Other names are cekur (Malaysia) and pro hom (Thailand). There is also a close relative kencur commonly grown in the garden as a medicinal plant, meeting Rapet (K. rotunda Jacq.), but easily distinguishable from the leaves. In the international literature (English) often causes confusion by calling kencur as lesser galangal (Alpinia officinarum) and zedoary (ginger and white), which is actually a different species and is not substitute to the spice. Cassava Tortilla Cassava Tortilla
In the Papaloapan Basin region, it is very common for families with small farms to plant and harvest this tuber. Cassava tortillas are usually eaten on their own in local homes, as they believe this is the best way to enjoy them. Sometimes, bean paste is added. These tortillas have a different texture compared to nixtamal tortillas; they are a bit elastic. Francisco Beristain RiosTranslated from Cookpad Mexico -

One of the rainy season snacks, we used to eat when I was a child. My late mom used to cook this and we are fond of this snack. Sweet, sticky, and melted in the mouth. Growing up I remember my mom would always have homemade beans ready, for breakfast, or lunch or dinner. There was always some ready. My mom would freeze her beans also to have them ready for a fast meal. She showed me how to make these growing up so I could pass down the recipe to my kids one day.selina1figueroa
