Candy Sushi
My daughter came home from school and showed me this.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Roll flat the rice crispy bar
- 2
Place the fruit roll up flat. This will be like the Nori in a sushi roll. Any type will do, we used a rainbow colored for visual effect
- 3
The flattened rice crispy bar goes on top of the roll up. Trim the excess roll up.
- 4
The licorice middle is next. I like the pull n peel because it's easier to customize the size. I've found peeling a little less then half works best. Cut the length to fit the roll. Add the Swedish fish or any other gummy smile you like.
- 5
Roll it all up tight. The rice crispy bar makes it all stick well.
- 6
Slice into segments. I find 8 peaces per roll is about right. Small enough that it fits in your mouth.

My friend taught me about sushi cake, and I figured I could easily make it myself, so I made one for the Doll Festival! Not only is it cute, but also delicious! Why not try making this with your kids?!Press down on the rice relatively tightly when spreading it into the mold. You don't have to add in denbu if you prefer not to. You can leave the bottom of the pan as-is when removing the mold. It might be easier to cut that way. The cake was 16 cm. Recipe by Torodesu cookpad.japan -
