Cookies

This is the only sugar cookie recipe that turns out right for me every time. My dad made sure I had a copy of the recipe when I went out on my own. It's a good thing too! Because Santa needs his Christmas Eve tribute.

My youngest son , school teacher had made this an assignment for earth week.... had the options to make them if we could, but she also made a video for the class and it was a writing assessment on the steps on how to make them... so we was lucky to have everything on hand to try and make these cookies..... food coloring is something I don’t keep on hand bc I don’t like cooking or baking with it, but I was very lucky to find some hiding in the back of my cabinet. He was excited that we could make these and add pictures to his assessment slide show he had to do if we made them.I love earthly things, we do things all year not just on earth day /earth earth week. My grandson loves to cook with me and also loves playing with his play dough. I wanted a cookie like his play dough so he could enjoy it with me. The first time we did this he placed the cookies on the cookie sheet and said "easy peasy!" For a 3 year old it was a hit.

Instead of sugar I used 3/4 cup of Splenda and Almond Extract instead of Vanilla. GREAT recipe!

These are so simple to make and have an amazing texture. As the name implies, they literally just melt in your mouth! They're not too sweet, but just taste like a nice, buttery shortbread. Another great holiday variation of this recipe can be to use peppermint extract in place of the vanilla and frost the finished cookies, then garnish with crushed candy canes!

I had read Cooking for Geeks, and it was discussing the way to make alterations to recipes, substituting ingredients, and wanted to make oatmeal cookies even healthier, primarily by reducing the sugar. The is was the result of several incremental changes to the basic recipe.

These are fun to make and you can use any colors you like. Alitte different than the usual sugar cookies.

Perfect sugar cookie recipe. I had so many compliments on them. A lot of fun to decorate as well. I let my kids cut out the cookies and I decorated them later. Icing can be tricky so I just added the milk very slowly till I had the right consistency.

My dad loved molasses cookies and passed that love on to my generation. Now, I have kids and wanted to continue this old time cookie recipe. Unfortunately, I could never find the right recipe like mom used to make; thankfully she still had it and was willing to share. Enjoy.

These are my favorite cookie. The original recipe called for chocolate chips, but I prefer raisins. I've also used craisins and they're very good in these cookies if you like cranberries. ♡
