Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 250 gdry dates
  2. 500 ml - 1ltr milk
  3. 2 tbspor more ghee
  4. Handfulcashews, almonds and dry fruits of choice
  5. 1 tspcardamom powder
  6. 2 tbspjaggery / honey / sugar / sweetener of choice (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    Remove the seeds from the dry dates and grind it to a coarse powder in a blender.

    Soak the ground dates in milk for 8 hours or overnight in refrigerator.

  3. 3

    Take the soaked dates and separate it from remaining milk. Keep the separated milk aside.

  4. 4

    In the same pan, add ghee. Add in the cashews, almonds etc. Heat it until golden brown. Then keep aside.

    In a hot pan, add ghee. Put in the soaked ground dates and stir it until golden brown. Add more ghee if desired.

  6. 6

    Add the remaining milk. Keep stirring until the milk almost but not completely evaporates.

  7. 7

    Add in jaggery / honey / sugar if desired more sweetness. This step is totally optional as the dates are already naturally sweet.

    Add cardamom powder and stir.

  9. 9

    Mix in the dry fruits. Ready to serve hot.
