Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsmatki/Moth Beans/Any sprout
  2. 1onion, finely chopped
  3. 1tomato, finely chopped
  4. 1 tspginger-garlic paste
  5. 1 tspturmeric powder
  6. 1 tspred chilli powder
  7. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  8. 1/2 tspmustard seeds
  9. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  10. leavescurry
  11. As per tastesalt
  12. 1potato
  13. 1Lemon juice
  14. 1 tsproasted peanuts
  15. 1green chilli, chopped
  16. ForRassa/Gravy
  17. 1onion, large chopped
  18. 2tomatoes, chopped
  19. 1 tspfresh coconut, shredded
  20. 1 tspginger-garlic paste
  21. 1 inch cinnamon stick
  22. 2 tspkolhapuri masala
  23. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  24. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  25. 1/2 tspred chilli powder

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash moth bean and soak in water overnight.

  2. 2

    In the morning, wash it with freshwater and drain the excess water.

  3. 3

    Pressure cook matki and potato. Add salt to it. Do not overcook. Cut the potatoes in small cubes.

  4. 4

    Heat oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot enough add cumin seeds and mustard seeds.

  5. 5

    Let them splutter. Now add asafoetida and curry leaves.

  6. 6

    Now add chopped onions. Saute till golden brown.

  7. 7

    Add tomatoes and saute for 3 - 4 minutes.

  8. 8

    Add roasted peanuts, matki, potato cubes, green chilli, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, garam masala

  9. 9

    Mix well and add little water to it. Cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes.

    To make Rassa, heat oil in a pan.

  11. 11

    Once the oil is hot, add cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, ginger-garlic paste, kolhapuri masala, red chilli powder.

    Once cool, grind to make a smooth paste. Add some water, if needed.

  13. 13

    In another pan, heat oil.

  14. 14

    Add cumin seeds, kat paste, turmeric powder, and enough water.

  15. 15

    Bring it to a boil.

  16. 16

    While serving, take a bowl. Add sprout, pour some kat or rassa, farsan. Add chopped tomato and onion over it.

    Add coriander leaves.

  18. 18

    Offer lemon slices with it.

  19. 19

    Serve hot Kolhapuri Misal with Fresh Pav.
