Ingredients

  • 1/2 CupSuji
  • 1Onion (Chopped)
  • 2Green Chillies (Chopped)
  • 1/2Tomato (Chopped)
  • 1 TbspSoaked Udad Daal
  • 1 TbspOil
  • 1 TbspPeanuts
  • 1/2 TspMustard Seeds
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1/2 TspSugar
  • 1 CupHot Water
  • Coriander Leaves (For Garnishing)
  • Dry Coconut (For Garnishing)

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat up oil in a pan.Add mustard seeds and let them crackle.

    Now add chopped onion,chopped green chilli and peanuts and cook this till onion turns golden brown in colour.

    Now add soaked udad daal,tomato and cook this for 2-3 minutes on medium flame.

    Now add suji,salt, some sugar and mix it well and roast it for 5-7 minutes on medium flame.

    Once the suji is roasted properly then add hot water and mix it well.Add water till suji becomes soft.

    Now lower the flame cover the upma with lid and cook this for 2-3 minutes.

    Suji Halwa is ready for serving.Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and grated carrot.
