This is an instant breakfast recipe.
Steps
- 1
First add chickpea flour and semolina in a bowl.
- 2
Now add turmeric, green chilli, Ginger, salt and sugar to the bowl followed by curd. Take care of the quantity of curd. Here I accidentally added more.
- 3
Mix everything well and continue mixing clockwise. keep adding a bit of water until you get the right consistency for the batter
- 4
Now take a pan or cooker and add water to it. Place a stand. Close the lid and bring the water to boil.
- 5
Once the water is boiled. Just before placing the batter on the stand, add eno fruit salt to the batter and stir it continuously until it becomes fluffy. You can substitute eno fruit salt with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and 1/2 citrus acid
- 6
Now take a tin and grease it with oil. Pour the batter. Gently pat. And place the tin on the stand
- 7
Close the lid and let it steam for about 20-25 mins. Check the dhokla with a toothpick.
- 8
Once cooked, allow the dhokla to cool. Take it on plate and cut in pieces. Now get the ingredients ready for tempering
- 9
Take a small pan. Add 2 tablespoons of oil. Once oil is heated, add mustard seeds, green chillies, and curry leaves. After few seconds, lower the flame and add a half cup of water, salt, 1 teaspoon lemon juice and 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 10
Mix everything well and add chopped coriander and bring it to boil
- 11
Pour this syrup on dhokla with a help of teaspoon slowly. You Don't want to drench the dhokla in water lol
- 12
Thats it. Instant dhokla is ready to eat with green chutney.
