Shawarma Pockets (Middle Eastern style)

Authentic Middle Eastern Shawarmas are totally different from those we invented in our country!! I was literally shocked when I first time ate a regular Pakistani shawarma! 😂😂👻
So within my resources here, I tried to make this Middle Eastern touch shawarma, with their style of sauces, salad and chicken.
For the meat, they actually use thin slices of meat that are then stacked together on a spit and then roasted on a vertical spit ( rod). Thin slices of the meat are then shaved off to serve as it roasts.
But I have used marinated grilled chicken, as my husband can never eat these spice less Middle Eastern dishes. 😂

Marinate the chicken with all ingredients of marinade and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or for overnight.

In a bowl mix all the ingredients of salad and keep aside.

Prepare your sauce as well. I had leftover raita yogurt so I used it.. 😉

Prepare the hummus and fries. I had some leftover hummus so I used it, you can skip it too.

Grill the chicken, 7-8 mins each side. Cut into thin slices. Give a smoke of coal if you like.

Grill the pitas.

Assembling: Make pockets in the pitas and fill with hummus, sauce, chicken pieces, salad, jalapeños and olives.

Serve with fries and hummus and enjoy!!
