Paan Peda

I dedicate this Paan Peda to my dear sister. Eating paan is a part of our tradition and culture, and we all carry forward our heritage. When the flavor of paan is added to a sweet, it’s truly special. Today, I made Paan Peda with a paan flavor, which tastes absolutely delicious. You can make this for any festival or celebration and impress your guests. The natural, lovely taste of paan, filled with dry fruits and gulkand, is sure to be loved by everyone. So friends, with Holi coming up, don’t wait to try it!
I used sweetened condensed milk to make the Paan Peda, and I made the condensed milk at home. That’s why the method for making homemade condensed milk is also included here.

I used sweetened condensed milk to make the Paan Peda, and I made the condensed milk at home. That’s why the method for making homemade condensed milk is also included here.
Steps
- 1
Gather all the ingredients for the Paan Peda. Remove the stems from the betel leaves. Finely chop the dry fruits. Since I used sweetened condensed milk, which is already sweet, you can adjust the sugar to your taste. I didn’t have condensed milk at home, so I made it from scratch.
- 2
First, let’s prepare the condensed milk at home. Dissolve any brand of milk powder well in water, then add sugar and baking soda. Heat on low, stirring constantly.
- 3
You’ll start to see bubbles forming. Add the ghee. The color will slowly change and become creamy.
- 4
When the mixture reduces by half and thickens to a condensed milk consistency, turn off the heat and let it cool.
- 5
Chop the betel leaves and add them to a blender jar with the condensed milk and sugar. Blend until smooth. If you want a deeper green color, you can add two drops of green food coloring. My paan was already very dark, so I didn’t need extra color.
- 6
Add cashews, almonds, pistachios, mukhwas, and gulkand to the grinder and blend together.
- 7
You can also add a drop or two of rose water to this mixture. For a color change, you can add rose syrup.
- 8
Heat a pan on the stove and dry roast the shredded coconut on low for 1-2 minutes. Add the paan mixture and mix well. If the mixture is too dry, add a little more condensed milk. Shape into evenly sized pedas (rounds).
- 9
Make a small indentation in the center of each peda with your finger and fill with the gulkand and dry fruit mixture. Top with red tutti frutti. Decorate with silver cake sprinkles if you like.
- 10
Delicious Paan Peda is ready.
- 11
Be sure to try it at least once.
