Steps
- 1
In a bowl, add finely chopped tomato. Remove the seeds of the tomato. To it, add finely chopped onions.
- 2
To it, add masala peanuts and roasted peanuts. Roast the raw peanuts with 1 teaspoon of oil. Mix well.
- 3
Next add green coriander chutney and tamarind date chutney. For Green Chutney Recipe See steps 10, 11, 12 and 13.
- 4
Mix it well and add the turmeric coated puffed rice. For roasting the puffed rice See step (5).
- 5
In a kadai add 1 tsp oil. Add the puffed rice and 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder and roast on low to medium flame for few seconds. By adding turmeric powder the puffed rice gets a nice color. Roasting the puffed rice makes it more crispy.

Now add masala chana dal, aloo bhujia, salt and chaat masala. Be careful while adding salt because it is present in the chutneys and snacks.

Recipe for Green Chutney: To a mixer, add boondi and buttermilk or water and allow to soak for 10 to 15 minutes. You can add roasted chana dal alongwith the boondi for soaking if you are using it. I used bhujia sev instead of it. This is used for thickening of the chutney. You can also use peanuts instead of chana dal.
- 11
Add bhujia sev, green chillies, garlic, ginger and cumin seeds.
- 12
Next add coriander leaves, lemon juice and salt. Be careful while adding salt bcs salt is present in the snacks.
- 13
Grind to a smooth paste. I used plain buttermilk for soaking and grinding. You can use water or curd according to your choice. This chutney is best for chaat recipes as well as for sandwiches.
