Ingredients

  1. Chana dal 1 and half cup
  2. 1 cupAll-purpose flour
  3. Pinch of salt
  4. Jaggery 1 cup
  5. Ghee
  6. Cardamom powder
  7. Oil 2 tbsp

Steps

  1. 1

    Add chana dal along with 3 cups of water and cook it in a cooker for until 3 wistles.
    Make sure that dal is not over cooked

  2. 2

    Once dal is cooked, add jaggery and mix the dal and jaggery in a mixer

  3. 3

    Add cardamom powder and ghee to the mixer

  4. 4

    Make sure that the dal mixer is soft. Should be able to make balls from the mixure

  5. 5

    Dough prep: In a bowl add all-purpose flour, a pinch of salt and mix with water. Make sure that dough is soft. Once the dough is prepared, add 1 tbsp oil to it and keep it aside for 1hour

  6. 6

    Take a plastic cover to make the bobbattu ready

  7. 7

    Take a lemon sized dough and dal mixer
    Press the dough flat with hand, place the dal mixer ball into the flat dough cover it on all sides and press gently

    Place pressed dough on tawa and cook on both sides with ghee on medium flame
