I was given a bunch of sweet potatoes for helping out at a sweet potato digging contest. I wondered if there was a way to make easy candied sweet potatoes without oil and few dishes to wash.

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven to 200℃.

  2. 2

Wash and cut the sweet potatoes. For the candied version, cut into chunks. For the fried version, cut into long and narrow strips. But really, you can just cut them into whatever size you want.

  3. 3

Put the cut potatoes and oil into a plastic bag. When the potatoes are coated in oil, add the sugar. Rub into the potatoes so that they are covered.

  4. 4

Spread out onto a baking sheet in a single layer. The baking time depends on the size of the potatoes, but basically it's about 10-20 minutes.

  5. 5

This is what the sweetened sweet potato fries look like when they're done! If you coat with maple syrup after they're done baking, it's so good.
