Jeera Biscuit

Jeera Biscuits are ideal for tea time that is little sweet and little salty with jeera flavor. These biscuits are crunchy and crumbly bakery style biscuits.
Very few ingredients are needed to make these Jeera Biscuits I.e butter, sugar, baking powder, salt, egg, maida and the star ingredient, cumin. It can either be baked in oven or on stove top for 20-25 minutes on low flame.

In a bowl take butter and melt it in microwave but do not heat it. Sieve & add powdered sugar and whisk well.

Add in baking powder, salt, jeera and followed by egg. Combine everything well.

Sieve maida to the bowl and gather to a soft dough. Keep the dough in the refrigerator for 15 minutes if the dough is very soft and butter oozing out.

Preheat the oven at 180 degC for 10 minutes.
Divide the dough into 12 equal size balls. Press between your palms to give a round shape. If the balls are breaking, roll tight in between your palms and then press. Arrange on a greased baking tray, sprinkle jeera on top of each biscuit and press lightly. - 5
Bake it in the oven at 180 degC for 20-25 minutes until the base and edges are golden. Let it cool down completely and store in airtight container.

Jeera biscuits are ready to be enjoyed with tea/coffee.
