Steamed Egg Chilli

A spicy and super yummy snacking or starter which can be an excellent serve during Christmas treat.
Usually and mostly Egg chilli is an Indo Chinese dish prepared with different sauces but this dish is fully prepared in desi style with no use of sauce and not even corn flour.
It can be a wonderful party starter specially in winter.

Assemble all ingredients

Make purée / paste of tomatoes

Break eggs, add salt, pepper powder, red chilli powder, milk and whisk well.

Transfer to a greased bowl, put to steamer and steam under medium flame for 7-9 minutes. Let it cool and cut into pieces.

For batter, in mixing bowl add maida + corn flour + salt + red chilli powder + pinch of haldi and mix well.

Add water gradually to form a thick but dropping consistency batter. Dunk each piece, coat well and shallow fry till golden brown.

In pan add oil, add ginger garlic paste + green chilli and stir fry for 1-2 minutes till turns slight brownish, then add capsicum pieces and stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
Now add spring onion and stir fry for another 2-3 minutes. - 8
Now add tomato paste + water + pepper powder + salt + sugar + few spring onion greens + green chilli and stir fry till it thickens.

Now add fried egg pieces, mix nicely that each piece gets coated with tomato gravy. At this stage 2-3 tbsp tomato ketchup can be added (optional) for a better taste and also little warm water can be added if it is too dry.

Now Egg Chilli is ready to serve, garnish with spring onion greens and serve hot hot.
