Ingredients

4 servings
  • 400 g (14 oz)can of chickpeas
  • 2 tbsptahini paste
  • 2 clovesfresh garlic
  • 2tblsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tspsalt
  • Juice of 2 fresh lemons
  • For Garnishing (optional)
  • 1tblsp olive oil
  • 1 pinchsumac
  • 1 pinchcumin powder
  • 1 pinchcayenne pepper
  • Fresh parsley leave
  • Some chickpeas

Steps

  1. 1

    Drain the chickpeas and reserve the liquid.
    Add the chickpeas and all remaining ingredients into a food processor. Add 2-3 tbsp of the chickpea liquid.
    Process for 3-5 minutes until creamy and smooth.

    Place on a dish or in a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with cayenne pepper, cumin powder, sumac, chickpeas & parsley leave.

    #Tips:

    If you want to start from dried chickpeas, then soak 150 g (5 oz) of dried chickpeas overnight. Drain, then boil in lightly salted water for 1 &1/2 to 2 hours until the chickpeas are tender. Then follow the recipe above.
