Kathiyawadi Dhokli nu shaak is known as one of the specialities of Kathiyawad. This curry is very popular in the dhabas of Kathiyawad. This vegetable is made from materials that are easily available at home. Chickpea flour i.e. besan is used to make this vegetable and the protein from besan is very good so this vegetable can also be taken as a healthy dish.

Kathiyawadi Dhokli nu shaak is known as one of the specialities of Kathiyawad. This curry is very popular in the dhabas of Kathiyawad. This vegetable is made from materials that are easily available at home. To make Dhokli:
Put water in a large pot to boil, add red chilli powder, turmeric, asafoetida and salt to taste and mix well. Then add Chickpea flour and mix it well with spiced water and keep stirring the flour till water is absorbed. Then spread the flour on a plate. - 2
The flour is spread evenly on a plate, then it is cut into pieces with a knife and then removed from the plate.

These pieces of dhokli are to be kept on the side.

To make the curry:
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin, neem, chopped chilli and dried red chilli. - 5
Add buttermilk and immediately add salt and a pinch of wheat flour.

Then add red chilli powder, turmeric and coriander, mix well and let it boil.

Add the prepared dhokli pieces and let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes.

Dhokli can be garnished with coriander leaves and served with roti or rice.
