Nan's Shrimp Cocktail

This is my Dad's quick and easy recipe that the family's been enjoying since the 1950s. This is SO much tastier, and WAY more affordable, than any shrimp cocktail you'll get in a restaurant. You'll have leftover cocktail sauce, but it keeps for a long time in the refrigerator.

Steps
- 1
Make the cocktail sauce by stirring together the ketchup, horseradish, and fresh squeezed lemon juice to taste. Add more or less horseradish to your taste. I like a nice horseradish kick!
- 2
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add cut lemon and shrimp. Boil for just 3 minutes. Drain.
- 3
Immediately plunge cooked shrimp into a bowl of ice water. Swish around for a minute or so, drain and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- 4
Serve chilled with cocktail sauce and lemon wedge.
