No-Water Nikujaga with Electric Pressure Cooker
Easy and quick with an electric pressure cooker! Tender in just 5 minutes under pressure! Most importantly, it's delicious! The flavors soak in perfectly, making it wonderfully comforting. The origin of this recipe: I wanted to make quick and easy meals with an electric pressure cooker. I don't make nikujaga in a regular pot anymore—haha.
Cooking Instructions

Combine the seasonings marked with ◎.

Lightly rinse the shirataki noodles and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Drain and place them in the electric pressure cooker.

Cut the vegetables and meat into bite-sized pieces, then layer them in the order of shirataki noodles, vegetables, and meat.

Pour the combined seasonings ◎ over the top. (It may look like a lot, but don't worry—it's fine!)

Set the pressure cooker for 4 minutes and wait for the pin to drop.

Once the pin drops, gently stir to evenly distribute the seasonings. Look! The potatoes have already absorbed the flavors.

It tastes even better once cooled and the flavors have soaked in more!

I use a Siroca electric pressure cooker with a cooking capacity of 1.3L and a total capacity of 2L.

Since then, my nikujaga method has gotten pretty slapdash, but it's still really delicious.Being that my pan is so old, that probably means that if your lid is newer with ventilation holes, you need to be careful not to let it burn.You only need to mix it up three times while it cooks - at the start, halfway through, and at the end. Draw out the water from the vegetables first, then turn up the heat to medium.
