Chicken breast is always affordable, so I end up buying it often. I love coming up with new ways to use chicken breast! This recipe became a family favorite because it has flavors kids love.

Slice the chicken breasts in half lengthwise, then cut crosswise into strips about 1/2 inch (1 cm) thick. Try to keep the pieces a similar thickness.

Place the chicken in a bowl. Add the ★ ingredients and massage well for about 1 minute. No need to marinate—this is quick and easy!

Add the potato starch to the bowl and mix until the chicken is evenly coated.

Spread the chicken pieces in a single layer in a frying pan with oil. A large (about 11-inch/28 cm) pan works well.

Cook over medium heat for 3 minutes. When the pieces start sticking together, shake the pan and flip them all over. You can also flip them one by one if you prefer.

Cook the other side for another 3 minutes with a lid on. Both sides should get nicely browned.

Pour the sauce from step 7 into the pan from step 6. Let it bubble and toss the chicken to coat it evenly.

Serve the teriyaki chicken on a plate lined with lettuce and drizzle with mayonnaise. The rich flavor goes perfectly with rice!
