Steps
- 1
Lay out the phyllo dough on a clean countertop. Brush each sheet with butter, layering them one on top of the other and brushing butter between each sheet until you finish the stack. Roll up the layered sheets into a log, place in a buttered baking pan, brush the top with more butter, and cut into triangle shapes like samosas.
- 2
Bake in a preheated oven for 10 minutes. Then turn on the broiler for 1 minute until golden brown. Remove from the oven while the pan is still hot and pour cold syrup over the top.
- 3
For the syrup: In a saucepan over heat, combine the water and sugar. When it starts to boil, add the vanilla packet and half a lemon. Stir for 5 minutes until it thickens slightly, then let it cool.
- 4
In a grinder, finely grind the peanuts. Add the green food coloring and pistachio flavoring, mix well, and use this mixture to decorate the top.
- 5
After baking and once the top is golden, pour the cold syrup over and sprinkle with the ground peanut mixture. Serve and enjoy!
