Wash and peel the mango
Grate it. Add salt and turmeric powder. - 2
Mix it well. Cover it and leave it for 10 mins. Don't squeeze the released water. Add sugar and mix it well.

Stir until sugar dissolves completely.

Put the pan on low to med. flame. Cook it till mango turns transparent and single string is formed in sugar syrup. Don't cook it more or it will become stiff.

After it cools down completely, add red chili powder and give a good mix. Store in a clean, sterilized jar and store and enjoy all the year round..
