During Ganesh Chaturthi, Patolya is a must by Maharashtrians and Konkans to welcome Bappa. It’s steamed turmeric leaves as it’s available in aplenty during this time. I grow Turmeric and enjoyed using the leaves
Steps

Filling - in a pan add grated coconut, grated jaggery and bring it to heat, add cardamom powder, mix, set aside
- 2
Wash the Turmeric leaves, cut the stems, halve, baste with oil and set aside
- 3
Patolya - In a bowl add rice flour, salt and water and whisk well
- 4
Take a turmeric leaf, add the rice flour mix on one side of the leaf, add the coconut-jaggery filling
- 5
Fold the leaf and press well

Take a steamer and boil water, add the Patolyas and steam for 20 mins on medium flame
- 7
Flip open the Patolya
- 8
Enjoy when it’s hot
