I definitely did not expect a late recipe post for the new year, but I am glad to be posting again. Apologies for those who waited, I did not plan on a long blog-break, however with moving into our house a week after returning from our vaca, it took us a few weeks to settle down :) The one thing that I am pretty happy about  is The Kitchen! I look forward to bringing you dishes from my brand new kitchen! The first one for the year is going to be a vegetarian side dish. Let's get to the recipe! :)

Steps

  1. 1

Add the mustard seeds to some heated oil

  2. 2

When it starts popping, add the cumin seeds and curry leaves

  3. 3

Saute for a few seconds, and then add the onions, ginger and garlic pastes and cook until the onions become soft

  4. 4

Next add the garam masala, and cook until the raw smell of the masala gets aromatic

  5. 5

When that happens, add the tomatoes, and give it a good stir

  6. 6

I leave the cauliflowers to the end as it cooks fast, so the potatoes will go in next

  7. 7

Cook it on medium low until the potatoes are almost done

  8. 8

Don't forget to add the required amount of salt

  9. 9

Add the cauliflowers and gently toss the caulis with the rest of the ingredients in the pot, and turn the flame down to low

  10. 10

Once cooked, spoon into a bowl

  11. 11

Your side dish is now ready to be served!

Welcome to my Blog The Eaterspot. My blogging journey began in March 2010. I had just relocated from the US, and living in Wellington, New Zealand was definitely a whole lot different from the US. The day after I landed here, I began a full time job, but I still had a whole lot of free time after 5pm. I was cooking a lot of new dishes from various cuisines so the blog was born to document my cooking for my friends and family to follow what we are upto as a newly married couple and to see what we were eating! Thanks for visting my spot!
