Essential Soup for Ramadan Harira Essential Soup for Ramadan Harira
This is a recipe that I decided to make after listening to my Moroccan friend talk about what they eat for ramadan. This is a really easy dish that doesn't really have any tricks to it.I don't think it's going too far to say that the chickpeas and lentils, often used so much in North African cooking, are the stand-out ingredients here.Personally I think the more lentils you add, the more delicious the soup becomes.Feel free to adjust the thickness of the soup to your preference. Devilsnew's Moroccan Harira Devilsnew's Moroccan Harira
This is a very traditional recipe for Moroccan Harira Soup, adapted to my American pantry. I am dubbing the Harira...Moroccan chili, because of its great popularity and ubiquity, with most everyone in Morocco having their own "secret recipe". It is a very hearty and exotic, chili-like, chicken soup. Very delicious, satisfying, and easy to make on a cold night. (vermicelli noodles can optionally be added.). Don't be fooled by the cinnamon and ginger, they work, entirely. Devilsnew -

#nonindian - This is an incredibly simple, comforting and a wholesome soup - Moroccan style, that can be dished out for a light hearty meal. It is very filling and you just don't need anything else. Well, you may pair it with some croutons or breadsticks. Rice may be substituted by couscous if you wish. Chicken too can be replaced with boneless mutton beef or pork if preferred. This piping hot soup is just perfect for a wintry night. Bethica Das -
