#CA26 Egg 65 is a favorite street food choice for most South Indian foodies. The dish originated in Tamil Nadu. But it is very popular in most regions. The Hyderabadis have almost adopted it as their own native dish!!!
Steps
- 1
Take 10 eggs. (make sure they are at room temperature) Break them in a big bowl add salt... Whisk vigorously with a whisk or fork for 1-2 minutes.
Let the yolk and egg white mix properly. - 2
Now we have to steam cook the eggs. To do so I have used a bowl..
Brush oil over the bowl so that the eggs won't stick. After brushing the oil, pour the whisked eggs into the bowl... - 3
Take a idly pot/pan. Heat 2 cups of water. Place a stand in the center.
Keep the bowl over the stand.
Cover and cook on medium-high flame for 10-12 minutes. After 12 minutes, to check if the eggs are cooked or not, insert a toothpick, if it comes out clean then the eggs are cooked. If not, cook for another 4-5 minutes. Keep checking in between. The eggs have risen and are very fluffy.. Our egg is ready. Turn off the flame and let it cool down. - 4
Once the tin is cooled off, flip it over a plate and the egg would come out easily. (if not scrape the sides with the help of a knife). Cut it into small cubes (1-inch).
- 5
In a bowl, take gram flour and corn flour. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt (as per taste), ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, chili powder, food color, garam masala powder.. Add water little by little and make a smooth lump free paste. Add water/ flour to reach the required consistency.
- 6
Heat oil for frying. Dip the cubes into the batter. Coat it nicely. and fry them in the hot oil till they are golden brown and crispy. Strain the excess oil and remove them on a kitchen towel.
- 7
- 8
Serve it hot and enjoy. This is a very unique egg recipe and I think you should definitely try making this. It requires less than 30-35 minutes and is the yummiest egg recipe.
